An apology definitely wasn't something Lucy was expecting. She had received sympathy before, but that was from a friend and practically expected within itself. All this talk of sires confused her further, because she somehow felt more unworthy than she had when she first went through this. It wasn't fair. Life never was, she knew; especially not here. But this felt different.
Then she tilted her head to the side in a different kind of curiosity. She was still confused on some level, because all of this was destined to be confusing, but she could handle it all the same.
"What's there to learn?" She asked then, "You don't kill people, and that's that. There's no magic to it."
Slowly Jessica shook her head. A sliver of guilt came with the fact she might potentially confuse the girl further. Unfortunately there wasn't much the brunette could do. it was her job.
"Like I said, there are rules. Not killing humans left and right is only one of them." She explained. "And unless you want the Inquisition to come knocking on your door, you do have to follow them." Hopefully that wouldn't sound like a threat; Jessica by no means meant it that way. It was more of a warning of the truth. Although with recent developments, it might take longer for the Inquisition to do anything with an individual vampire breaking the rules.
"Then of course there's just you getting used to...well you now. Although you'll do that more yourself as time goes on. Get used to your new senses and whatnot. The shift can require more time to adjust depending on the person." She said. Truthfully it seemed like the other woman was...well enough, killing someone aside. Though it was a tricky, somewhat foolish question, Jessica had to ask: "How do you feel with your new form right now?"
Truth be told, Lucy already knew there absolutely was a magic to not killing people. She had yet to experience the fabled art of not taking a life amidst taking sustenance. She should have known better, given the fact that she'd been living in this city for long enough to pick up the information she needed. But she'd remained unregistered for a reason. Fear and pride made for funny ill-constructed beliefs.
"I don't feel outta control, if that's what you're asking me." Lucy replied finally. It was the only response she could think of to give, but she knew it was likely wrong. Easily wrong, probably. "I liked how I was. It fit the life I had perfectly. You guys were doing your thing and I was avoiding the living fuck outta you."
Swinging herself around, she took a forward step before she fell into the chair previously offered to her. Slinking back into it, Lucy felt the way her foot bounced with an instinct stint of anxiousness. This whole thing was definitely worth feeling uncomfortable over. "And now I'm like this, and I don't reckon you should take this the wrong way, but the little introduction to your way of life was fucking psychotic." She explained, shrugging her shoulders to the fact, "Maybe it's all against your rules - I dunno - but the fact is that even if you don't - or shouldn't - do it, you still can."
