I guess I can give you a bit of history on this place before telling you the rules. Back when the walls first went up, my great grandfather realized that there was going to be one real problem with this whole containment idea. That, my friends, was food. While the vampires might’ve saved some humans from the plague, they weren’t exactly saving them from hunger. Vampires didn’t need real food, right? So it wouldn’t make much sense for them to focus too hard on it.
That’s where my grandfather came in. Together with a few others, he took over one of the sturdier builds in what we now call the Outer City, making sure it was close enough to the wall so he could do what he had to. Which was being able to sneak people in and out of the city without causing too much of a problem. On the other side of the wall, he started to set up a farm of sorts. He captured animals and bred them, and grew different plants and vegetables. That way, the humans would have food for sure.
Now, since you’re trying to join the company I’ll need to tell you what I expect. The rules are pretty simple actually.
First: do not steal any of the food. You will be repaid for your service with supplies once it’s time. However if I catch you, or any of the other workers catch you, then you’ll be killed. I will not tolerate this under any circumstance. If you need more food for a good reason, then you come and speak to me freely. Do not go behind my back, or else.
Second: do not let anyone else on the farm premise or in the storage. If they are loitering outside or showing suspicious activity, then just chase them away and give them a warning. If they are actually inside the farm or storage, then kill them. Just as I don’t like my employees stealing, I don’t like my customers stealing either.
Third: listen to me when I give you orders. Sometimes things might change or we have an emergency at the farm or storage. When that happens, you have to listen to every word I say, understand? Not only is it for your personal safety, but your job’s safety as well that you remember this.
Lastly, if you’re sick then please tell me. We don’t want everyone else getting sick because you’re afraid of losing your job. if you warn me then I will be fine letting you take the time off to recover and, yes, you will still get your weekly pay.
Now then! That’s all you really have to know. I look forward to working with you in the future. You start tomorrow.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
