RACE: Newborn vampire♦ THE FREEFORM ♦"Just enough, and nothing more."It was a promise from a complete stranger with sharper teeth and the ability to take whatever she wanted. But she was weaker. Weaker than the human she'd stumbled across who offered to help her first.
They even argued over it. Lucy was denied because it was ridiculous. Who would fight over saving their own life? That was ridiculous. She was ridiculous. Maybe she should've walked away then and there and left her to shrivle and die, or whatever it was that happened to the likes of them.
Just do it, I don't care, She even managed to apply reason, inconvenient as it was; Better you do that then die on my bloody doorstep.
What a travesty that'd be.
But the residual marks against her neck are slow to fade. People question her from time to time about it, and those who aren't willing just look at her with the kind of fear of a possible transition. So she wears her hair different, off to one side for the rest of her miserable, thankfully short human life."I wouldn't call you ordinary."Alright. Perplexed dark eyes were quick to search the set that kept a lot of things hidden. Wasn't it like, an unspoken rule not to talk to them? Humanity knew it had little power here, but that didn't mean she had to be submissive. She didn't know how to do that. She could probably burn her alive, or something.
How did they die? Was it a cutting off the head, thing? She didn't know, because she didn't know if anyone totally knew. They all died before they got a word in edge wise, let alone an actual chance to make an actual connection. Sucked dry and all that. How brutal.
She didn't even know how to be diplomatic.
Yeah, okay, She'd said. They were the only words she could think of, because she didn't think a vote of thanks was worth it in a moment like that. She wasn't really thankful to be under the eyes of a demented vampire."They could take you in a second."Informative. There was a lot of information from the person who wouldn't leave her alone. Alright, she decided that perhaps there was something to learn. She figured that out a little while ago, anyway. Sure, she might die in a matter of seconds. That was probably a good thing, given the shitfight they lived in now.
Okay, so let them. Confidence. There was a stint of it in her words. Maybe she really didn't care. She even shrugged her shoulders."I could keep you."It didn't sound so bad at the time. Of course, it was ridiculous. Possessive. Perhaps far too possessive for someone who had such a greater level of power. There was no way to argue against someone who could take whatever they wanted. She knew so little about the development and the belief system of a series of monsters born from obvious fiction. Hell, it mightn't even be totally legitimate. What would one of them want with someone like her?
Livestock, maybe? Whatever, she went about her business regardless of catching such a deadly set of eyes. Not interested, I don't think. Literally the worst stumble she could think of, Thanks, I guess, for the offer.
But it's hard, she determined, when there was a knowing set of eyes on her. It didn't take special perception to know when she was and wasn't being watched. She used to look for it a little, but now she ignores it. It's better that way. Anything else would just be ridiculous. She didn't think of it at all before she slept."It was a matter of convenience."Convenience. The words carry a very slow wash, like they're supposed to make sense and they do for a split second before they absolutely don't. That's the reasoning, apparently, for the equal puncture marks at the base of her neck, and the bloody poison that was about to take over. Righto.
And the difference. It's not even a conversation, because it's not even a choice. Never was she asked about the change; there was nothing wrong with being normal and flying under the radar for her entire existence. The world is destroyed as it is, so why would she want to live forever?
They're not words she can give. Not when the senses are so harshly overloaded and all she wants to do is kill her. Convenience.
