”Is that all you have to say?””Do you ever speak?”
“Woman of few words, aren’t you?””Can’t you tell me what you’re thinking?”
“I’m just trying to be friendly.””You don’t have to be such a bitch.”
“What the hell is wrong with you?”She couldn’t help it. It was in her nature. Social interaction was a necessary evil. People were a necessary evil. What else would bring her the things she needed to fix what she found? So she talked when she had to. There never was any finesse in her words. No elegant twists and beautiful poetry. Words she handled like a blunt weapon; if they didn’t get across her point, then why use them at all?
”I don’t know why I even bothered.””This was a mistake.”
“What? You and me?”"It’s not working out.”
“I don’t like you like that.”Why did she even try? Relationships and her didn’t mix; not romantic, not platonic, not anything. She was to awkward. Too distant. Too closed off for anyone to stay for long. It was too difficult to pry herself open for them. And for what? All that effort only gained her disappointment. She ought to stop. She knew it would’ve been better if she did. Life was too short in this world for her to waste it on others.
"Well hello there."Then why did she stick out so much? Why did she plague her thoughts more than anything else?"I don’t intend to hurt you."It was all just a game to her, and she an unskilled opponent. She didn’t know any of the rules or what game they were even playing. It was completely unfair.
"Quite the opposite in fact."Then why did she keep on playing when she knew she was going to lose?”Won’t you let me in?”It was completely unfair.
But at this point,
she didn’t care.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
