I suppose when one reaches the ripe old age of one-hundred and sixty, the days begin to blur together. I couldn't even really tell you if that is my true age because I stopped keeping track a long time ago. Wouldn't you if your lifespan was seen as infinite? When I was keeping track, my life wasn't being lived, I was just going day by day, trying to remember each little thing about my past so that I didn't forget. Now? Well, frankly, I don't see the point in remembering. I've been alive so long that my family is gone, dissipated long ago, I'm certain. The way I look at it is like this: if I was meant to live among them, I would have died among them, too. However, here I sit, at this desk, writing.
If I tell you what I remember, I'm afraid you won't quite get a lot out of it, however, I am willing to try. I was born in the mid 1800s in Ipswich, England. It's a small, quaint little town. One of the oldest towns in England, I'll have you know. My family was one of the families that ran the Tolly Cobbold brewery, I suppose that's where I developed my drinking problem. I had a mum, a dad, and a sister, Emily. I followed Dad into the business the day I turned eighteen and lasted there for about five years, while attending Oxford to get my degree in business. Emily soon followed for studying law.
At twenty-three, you could say my perspective in life had changed. As was I. A vampire by the name of Elise James (at least that was the name she gave) saved my life after a devastating car accident that had left me a little worse for wear. I don't remember the details, I only really just remember her face. She was beautiful, unearthly so. I was certain that she was an angel, coming to take me to Heaven. Looking back at it now, it does appear a bit ironic. Elise made me into what she was, trained me in the ways of control and discretion. She taught me how to lure men and women away from their groups and into our mouths. My life was exciting, alluring and lustful. I distinctly remember lusting for people. Of all kinds.
Between the mark of my first century and now, we had traveled everywhere. France, Spain, Canada and settled into the US which is where she left me. It wasn't a big scene, not even much of a goodbye, she just whisked herself away one night and hasn't returned since. Frankly, my tie to her will always be there, but I'm sort of glad that her nagging has ceased. I left my mother back in Ipswich, I didn't need another. It wasn't before we had established our own club that she disappeared.
It started as a joke, a blood bar if you will. Exclusive to vampires and their pets to come, drink a little blood...or be drank from, get lost in the bliss of music and lust. Eventually it became larger than either of us had imagined. Bloody Mary became one of the hottest clubs in Old Chicago. The larger it grew in popularity, the less interest that Elise had in it. Eventually she lost interest altogether and left with a swiftly written note on the fridge in my apartment:
Until our paths cross again.
-Eternally loved

Fast forward about thirty uneventful years, and you've found me. One of the well-adjusted, well-know, and well-adapted vampires here. I am by no means an elder, nor am I a Lord of any kind, I'm just a man who has a bloodline that has gotten him farther than I intended. Elise left me with more of a name for myself than I ever could have had as a human. My vampirism is seen often as cursed and wretched, but this world has offered me more in eternity than I would have received in my whole lifetime. I own one of the top clubs in the area and I certainly have more fun than I believed was possible. Vampirism may be my greatest sin, but I would take it any and every day.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
