Surely there had to be something interesting about the perky brunette’s history, right? Well that’s not entirely wrong, but in the beginning Jessica was just as mundane as every other child in the States. Back when the world hadn't been in an apocalyptic panic, she was born to Clarence and Madeline West. In their eyes, their daughter was special- just like every other parent believed about their child. It wasn't until Jessica turned twenty four that she really earned the right to that term. Because no longer being human was a pretty special occasion.
Why exactly she was picked is still a mystery yet to be answered. By chance she'd met her future sire in a park sitting on a bench. Approached, they ended up having a nice, long conversation between strangers until Jessica had to go. She hadn't exactly intended to meet the kind man again, but then he suddenly started showing up at her work. His name was Tommy Suarez, a kind and understanding man that slowly became one of her best friends. Through him she met the scant few others he had changed to be like him, though she wouldn't know that until her twenty fourth birthday.
Usually people get someone material gifts, but Jessica was offered a completely different way of life. An extended one that could go on forever. All she had to do was say yes. As expected with these kinds of life-changing deals, she had to take a while to consider. Eventually she accepted, and with that she became one more creature of the night. Why not? The only vampires she'd met at the time was Tommy and the others he'd sired. They hardly seemed like monsters or the dramatic sparkling fairies that literature had depicted. Sure, they had to drink blood to survive, but she was taught moderation. She might've had newfound power, but it didn't come with killing intent. Besides, when the plague started showing up and killing humans left and right, it was even more impotant to keep them alive. Along with her sired "family," she helped round up some unafflicted humans into the city of Old Chicago. Only then did she start meeting other vampires, and they made her far more grateful to have a sire like she did. During her stay she became a Praetor of the Magistrate. It took some time, but she proved herself capable enough for the job. While she's found some level of contentness, it's often she finds herself thinking back to the world that was rather than the world that is.♦ THE PLAYER ♦
