In a world such as this, you've got to figure out a way to make by. It's not pretty and it sure as hell ain't heartwarming. In fact, it's easy to stand on the outside, looking in and claiming that there is no chance in hell you'd ever give in to the monsters lurking at the top of the food chain. But then - if history has taught us anything, it's that humans are selfish and would do just about anything to survive. How is this any different? How is selling your soul in order to get food on the table such a bad thing - for such a small price to pay?
Fuck the laws of human society - fuck the primal instincts of a world that's going to hell. We all do what we've gotta do in order to survive yet another day in this shithole we call an existence. And that's fine.
And yet, as you sit there, ready to throw it all away in order to survive, you realize that you're not made to follow anyone's rules. You do what you have to and then you walk away without turning back. Because turning back means that you have to witness everything you've ever done and that makes it impossible to clean your hands off of it ever again.
I was born in a world that didn't treasure innocence. Thrust into a harsh reality I couldn't begin to fathom - raised by these insane laws and rules. My parents died before I could really make any memories of them and the rest isn't even worth mentioning.
Thankfully, my parents weren't the only family I would find - nor treasure. Blood isn't always thicker than water. That's what I've come to learn during my life - as short as it might have been. Then again, I suppose living 'til your mid twenties is something to be thankful for - if there was ever anything to be thankful for in this life."We survive - therefore we fight."♦ THE PLAYER ♦
