MISC: Her expression is almost always in a constant state of deadpan neutral. Eliciting any form of expression, whether negative or positive, is considered impressive in her case.
PERSONALITY: All that needs to be known about Mae is that she is as apathetic as she is salty. Most of her humor is dark while being delivered in relative monotone. More often then not her remarks can pass over someone’s head unless they know Mae well. Those who also know Mae are the only ones capable of seeing the subtle hints that prove she does indeed have other emotions other than boredom, dry amusement, and disapproval.
For as much as she acts like the outside world is nothing but a stage she’d been given, she does in fact process what happens. Only those well versed in reading body language, or those who’ve known Mae for a while will have an easy time picking out her nonverbal responses. For everyone else, it’s up to personal interpretation.

The short summary is: she wanted to kill things.
The long version is a bit more tedious. It starts when she was a child, born to the Garners in the outer city. Although life was difficult, they’d found their niche. Her dad went out to scavenge while her mother prepared whatever food they managed to come upon. It was just enough to survive.
It was also an incredibly miserable and boring existence.
Which was why she took out to the dangerous streets more often then she should have. The initial learning experiences were rough. She nearly lost her life a number of times. But as time went on, she got better. How had she never known how easy it was to hide and vanish?
Soon she was more than an accomplished thief for her age, but it all changed when she had to put someone down for the first time. It was an accident, but the event stuck with her forever. It was so strange, realizing that others did not have undisputed power over life and death for her. That kind of power was, in fact, shared. before she knew it, she was exercising it more and more on those who gave her and her family trouble. To the point where it could’ve been mistaken for some macabre hobby.
However even that changed when she was pooled into a mess far worse than she’d intended. One involving a vampire, a fugitive, and one very disgruntled hobo. At the end, she ended up being one of two survivors. For the first time, she managed to slay a vampire. It was hard.
But more importantly it posed a challenge.
Suddenly her prey of choice went from her fellow hunted to the hunters themselves. Why not? They were the reason for how messed up the world was. Maybe they were the reason she was so messed up too. Or maybe she just needed to find that extra thrill in her life that had gotten dulled over time. It could’ve been any number of reasons. Now she had something new, exciting, and deadly to try.
Only this time her actions didn’t go so unnoticed. Especially when she accidentally took out someone else’s target. Which threw her right into a web of connections and secrets that she really shouldn’t have found. However, instead of being picked off she was offered a job.
How could she possibly say no to an offer like that?
