What she was doing was beyond stupid. She wasn't working on her job, so there was no reason for her to be anywhere near the Inner City. Much less inside it in the middle of the day sitting up in a tree. Didn't she have anything better to do? Apparently not, so she aimed yet another small piece of twig at some unsuspecting passerby.
To put it quite simply, she was bored.
The job was on later that night. Until then, Mae had unwisely been given free reign over how she spent her time. Maybe it would've been a good idea to gather more intel on her target. More information always made the job easier to carry out. But the problem was that she'd done that already. It was a path regularly taken, so it had lost it's appeal. At least it had currently.
Which was how she found herself taking potshots at people up in a tree. If only her leader could see her now. Wouldn't she be so proud Mae had been recruited? So far no one had been smart enough to find her. She was up high and well hidden. No one had thought that maybe there was something up over their heads and maybe they should look up. Some things never changed.
Brown eyes gazed about lazily looking for a new target. Some had been smarter and moved away. Not enough to ruin her fun though. Finally she spotted someone she hadn't gotten and took aim. She'd had a while to practice perfecting her head-shots at this point, and it didn't fail her this time.
